Giorgi Oniani is a professor of Kutaisi International University since 2020, of the School of Computer Science and Mathematics in the field of Mathematical Analysis. In 1995, he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Tbilisi State University. In 1998 he defended the degree of the doctor of sciences in Physics and Mathematics at the same university. In 1998-2020, he worked as a professor at Akaki Tsereteli State University. In 2010-2020 he was head of the Department of Mathematics, as well as Chairman of the Dissertation Council at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences.
The main research areas of Giorgi Oniani are Fourier analysis and Real analysis. He is the author of more than 60 papers, including one monograph and one textbook. For collaboration in the research, he was at various times invited to the universities of Lulea (Sweden), Debrecen (Hungary), Palermo (Italy), Yerevan (Armenia) and Astana (Kazakhstan). He was involved in several grant research projects. In 2010-2013, he was Vice-President of Georgian Mathematical Union.
