Prof. Dr. Andreas Ditsche graduated from Paderborn University, Germany, with a master’s degree in business administration. The title of his PhD thesis is “Remote Work – The Great Equalizer of the 21st Century”.
He started his professional career with a Big 4 international auditing firm, where he worked in the field of Mergers and Acquisitions. Then he served as CFO and CEO of multinational companies, mainly in the fields of automotive/aerospace, power tools and railway maintenance. Andreas has lived and worked in the USA and was Managing Director of companies in Germany, Italy, France and the UK, leading up to 1.500 employees. He also served as a non-executive director and is a member of multiple supervisory boards. Andreas is an experienced expert in change management, restructuring and turnaround management.
Currently, he is the CEO of a multinational internet company, based in Berlin. Andreas’ working languages are German, English, French and Italian. He lives in Marburg, Germany.
Andreas is deeply involved the startup cosmos as founder, investor, advisor, mentor and board member. He has supported many student founder teams.
He is a passionate public speaker, often in the field of leadership, remote work and the future of work, where he shares his vast experience in old-economy companies across the globe, provides insights about scaling high-tech startups, and leading multicultural global teams. Furthermore, Andreas is a podcast host and frequent podcast guest speaker.
In parallel to his management career, Andreas has been working as a lecturer at DHBW (Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg) and FHDW (Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft) university for almost 20 years. He is specialized in entrepreneurship, leadership, international business and M&A. Furthermore, he regularly holds seminars in management ethics and diversity at THM (Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen). He enjoys offering management subjects to students from different faculties.
Andreas has helped developing an online curriculum to continue teaching during the Corona crisis. He has authored numerous articles in his fields of research.
At KIU, Prof. Dr. Ditsche’s main teaching and research topics are entrepreneurship and innovation, both in the bachelor’s and the FIM master’s program.
Andreas loves traveling. Whenever he finds time, you can find him on offroad-tracks in Africa, in the Australian Outback, laid back on a Greek Island or hiking in the Alps.
